Skin & Centella
Asiatica Hydrocotyl (Centella Asiatica / gotu kola) has been used to successfully treat ulcers for several years and this has prompted research of the action of this plant extract. In total 54 human genes are up-regulated by hydrocotyl and most have cell proliferation and regenerative functions. It stimulates AF and VEGF and TGF which cause the repair of the microvascular system. Therefore extracts from hydrocotyl are used to treat bleeding ulcers. It stimulates the production of type I and type III collagen. In guinea pig punch wounds, applications of 0.2% hydrocotyl produced a 57% increase in skin tensile strength, by increased collagen content and better epithelization as compared to control groups. Hydrocotyl is a very powerful antioxidant and stimulates the body to manufacture catalase, a powerful anti-aging antioxidant. Hydrocotyl is a powerful skin regenerative agent and works very well in conjunction with vitamin A, calcium, zinc and other agents of skin repair and rejuvenation. Hydrocotyl is contained in Antioxidant Moisturizer, Firming Hydration Mask, Vitamin A / Antioxidant Complex and Line Repair Complex. © 2006 Apresia / Skintactix |
